What really separates them: the Receiver

Without the Receiver, the four channels of the Lite edition all reach the same instrument. It is a four-voice figure for one sound, one bar long. The full edition is eight voices over four bars, each voice on its own track, with its own instrument and its own effects — and as many trackers in the Set as you want — since 1.1, only one free tracker sounds per Set, the others open and edit but stay silent. That is the difference between the two, and it is a difference of kind rather than of size.

Your patterns come with you

A pattern lives inside the device that wrote it, so buying the full edition does not move your work across on its own. The clipboard is shared between every MaxTracker open in the Set: select all with Shift+A in the Lite, copy with Shift+C, paste into the full one with Shift+V. Nothing to export, nothing to import, and the effects travel with the notes.

What you get

  • MaxTracker — the tracker device, maxtracker.amxd.
  • MaxTracker Receiver — the companion device, as many instances as you want.
  • The manual, eleven chapters, from the first note to the export — as PDF and EPUB, yours to keep.
  • Free updates across the 1.x line, new features included.
  • Email support from the person who wrote it.
  • A say in what comes next — user requests shape the roadmap.

What you need

  • Ableton Live 12.2 or newer.
  • Max for Live — included in Live Suite, a paid option with Live Standard.
  • Windows or macOS.

Payment is handled by Gumroad, the merchant of record: it issues the invoice, collects and remits VAT worldwide, and hosts your download. Cards, PayPal and Apple Pay, in your own currency.

About the licence

The licence is granted to the buyer, for their own use — on all the machines they personally work on. Redistribution, resale and derivative devices are not permitted. The full text is on the licence page.

Before you buy

Is there a demo?
Better than a demo: a free edition that never expires. MaxTracker Lite is the same program on a smaller grid — four channels, sixteen rows — without the Receiver that sends each channel to its own track. Everything else is there, including export to a clip, and your patterns move to the full edition by copy and paste. Since 1.1, one Lite plays per Set. It gets the fixes and the minor improvements; new features and the PDF manual come with the purchase. And whatever you decide, the whole of this site is readable before you pay: every function, every effect command, the shortcuts, and the limits.
Will it run on my Live?
Only on Live 12.2 or newer with Max for Live. This one is worth checking before buying rather than after — see the documentation.
Can I use it on my laptop and my studio machine?
Yes. The licence follows you, not a machine. There is no activation, no serial to type, no phoning home: the file works as it is.
